This sounds like it is written by someone who doesn't listen to hip-hop.
As you mentioned, many rappers come from impoverished backgrounds, however,
hip-hop itself has often been a platform for marginalized communities to express their
    ideas.   »èÁ¦

Your first source suggests that teens who listen to rap tend to engage in underage
drinking and be more violent. This is a weightless statement. Just because those teens
listen to hip-hop does not mean that there is something wrong with hip-hop, it usually is something wrong with the listener.   »èÁ¦

For example, a study by the Guardian shows that Mcdonalds customers tend to have a
higher crime rate than other restaurant customers. This doesn't mean that there is
something wrong with Mcdonalds, but the problem is that impoverished communities
        can only afford Mcdonalds.   »èÁ¦

Those impoverished communities, and their environment is the main reason why the
crime rates are higher. Taking this in terms of Mcdonalds consumers in general is a
completely unreasonable and is a misrepresentation of unaccounted variables.   »èÁ¦

Your second source is from 2008, which had a completely different hip-hop scene
compared to what it is now. Also, if you read the source carefully, it says that most of
these votes came from "older respondents".   »èÁ¦

It happens in all societies, in that elderly are afraid to see the culture that they grew up
with and enjoyed disappear. I would assume that that is what fueled the outcome of this
statistic. Also, if you don't know, pew research center is notorious for its biased and fake
              polls.   »èÁ¦

Good thing that this news station is not popular since this article wouldn't do so well to a
larger public. It has loose arguments and is backed up by bogus sources. I would go on
with more arguments but I can't be bothered. Very low quality of research and writing,
but i wish you all the best :)   »èÁ¦
