On the 9th of July 2020, Won Sun Park, the mayor of Seoul committed suicide after the scandal he got associated of. Because having the power over Seoul was quite big, many were under shock after the death of Mr. Park. The power was held by the vice mayors until the election of the mayor was held, which happens on the 7th of April 2021.

As being the mayor of Seoul gives a great deal of power, many politicians are attempting to be elected. Having only a few weeks left until the election many infer that the mayor will be Se-hoon Oh, a former mayor of Seoul.

The public poll done after the unification of the opposition party, Se hoon Oh candidate received 55.0 %, being at least 18.5% of other candidates whether they are government party or opposition parties.

With Oh joining the race of the election forms the “Big Three”, which are Ahn Cheol-soo, Na Kyung won, and Oh Se hoon.

As the election is coming by, the candidates are campaigning diligently, visiting the convenient stores in Korea. Candidate Young Sun Park from the governmental party showed engagement with the citizens by working in the stores. She did a part time job for 1 hour, trying to connect with the students who work in the store.

Even though all candidates mostly say how they wanted to be connected with the citizens by being close to them, it is clearly shown how all these actions are for the votes. THe people are tricked all the time by the policies that the politicians make.

Whether it is an election for a mayor of Seoul, or an election for the president (which will happen in a year) the candidates should be truthful; they should not be going to the citizens for votes but actually to help, actually to know what is happening in the public, actually to help the country as a politician.

선거에 나온 정치인들의 야망

2020년 7월 9일, 박원순 서울시장은 성추행 스캔들에 휩싸여, 그 스트레스와 관심을 참지 못하고 결국 스스로 목숨을 끊었다. 한국의 수도, 서울시장이 되는 것은 책임감과 그에 주어지는 힘이 꽤 컸기 때문에 많은 사람들이 박원순 시장의 죽음에  큰 충격을 받았다.

서울시장으로 선임 되는 것은 많은 힘을 주기 때문에, 많은 정치인들이 서울시장의 출마를 시도하고 있다. 4월 7일의 보궐선거가 얼마 남지 않은 지금, 많은 사람들은 전 변호사이자 현 야권 단일후보인 오세훈 후보의 우세를 점치고 있다.
야권 단일화 이후 실시된 여론조사는 오세훈 후보가 55.0%를 얻었고 여당이든 야당이든 다른 후보들은 최소 18.5%에 그쳤다.

선거일이 점점 다가오면서 , 후보들은 민심을 얻으려 열심히 노력하고 있다. 더불어민주당의 박영선 후보는 편의점에서 츄리닝 차림으로 약 1시간 동안 일하며 시민들의 고민과 삶의 고단함을 들었다.

서울시장 후보들의 시민을 향한 행동이 진실과 거짓이라는 걸 국민들은 잘 모른다 그래서 많은 사람들이 정치인들이 말하는 정책에 항상 속는다.

서울시장 선거든, (1년 후에 있을) 대통령 선거든 후보들은 진실해야 한다. 그들은 선거만을 위한 캠페인이 아닌 실제로 나라와 국민을 위해야 일해야 한다. 국민들에게 진실을 알려주어야 하며 정치인으로서 국민과 나라를 위해 더욱 헌신하고 노력해야 한다.
