ESG (Environmental, Social, and Governance) investing is quickly becoming mainstream as investors become more conscious of issues such as climate change, global warming, and ethical work practices. The ESG (Environmental, Social, and Governance) component is becoming increasingly important in the securities sector. This is because ESG is being used as a significant investment signal by global investment banks and asset managers in their fund management. Not just giant securities businesses, but even small and medium-sized securities firms are modifying their management paradigms in response to this. ESG is also an important term in the plan for changing the old brokerage profit-based structure into an IB one. Securities firms are primarily interested in changing investment strategies with a focus on ESG.
ESG (Environmental, Social, and Governance) management and investment demands have risen dramatically in the previous year, and the ESG wave is currently sweeping the stock market. Korea's securities companies are demonstrating active ESG initiatives, such as fast integrating and incorporating ESG into management, investing, and bond issuance. The CEOs of securities companies are also prioritizing ESG management through organizational restructuring and ambitious ESG bond issuance.
The 'organizational reorganization' was the first shift in the securities industry department as the importance of ESG grows, it is necessary to establish a separate dedicated organization within the industry. Mirae Asset Securities, Samsung Securities, KB Securities, Korea Investment & Securities, Kyobo Securities, Hanwha Investment & Securities, and KTB Investment & Securities have formed an ESG committee to promote sustainable management among major securities firms. As the ESG committee is the highest decision-making body under the Board of Directors that establishes corporate ESG strategies and policies and manages implementation details, securities companies are also rushing to establish an ESG department.
또한, ESG(Environmental, Social, Governance)가 증권업계에서 빼놓을 수 없는 핵심 요소로 다가오고 있다.
지난해부터 ESG(Environmental, Social, Governance) 관리 및 투자 수요가 급증하면서 현재 주식시장에 ESG 트렌드가 불고 있다.
