At the forefront of modern technology stands artificial intelligence (AI), often more powerful than humans in many fields. One of the reasons why AI is deemed powerful is its ability to make decisions quickly and accurately. Particularly, in the developing world with an undulating amount of data produced every second, the importance of recommendation by AI rises continuously.

According to Meta, its AI system recommends up to 40% of the information that appears in people's Facebook feeds, which led to an increased time spent on Facebook and Instagram by 24%. Additionally, thanks to developed AI abilities, YouTube manages to filter and recommend over 800 million videos to 2.7 billion users simultaneously.

At the crux of AI recommendation algorithms lies the concept of personalization, a process that meets individual preferences. The major foundation of AI-powered recommendation algorithms is vast amounts of data or the so-called Big Data. These include ratings, search queries, or time spent on a particular page. AI algorithms then mathematically process the data to find out the network, identifying patterns and correlations between products and users, and then searching for the item that best suits one’s preferences.

AI-powered recommendation not only saves time but also introduces users to items they might have otherwise overlooked. Further, as AI becomes more versatile such as being able to perform sentiment analysis, the recommendation can provide content with a higher personal connection to the user. Such AI-powered recommendations promise a future where they enrich various aspects of daily life.
