While "Artificial Intelligence (AI)" is permeating all areas of our lives and industries, the utilization of related technologies is also increasing rapidly in the media content business sector. Grandview Research, a global market research company, projects that by 2030, the media industry's AI market will be worth $99.48 billion (or 132 trillion won). The Korean government is encouraging the use of AI in the media and content industries, following the worldwide trend. 

The Ministry of Science and ICT held the "16th Information and Communication Strategy Committee" at Grand Central in Jung-gu, Seoul on the 12th. The "Information and Communication Strategy Committee" is a policy-making body in the field of information and communication based on the "Special Act on Promotion of Information and Communication and Promotion of Convergence, etc." It consists of a total of 25 people, including the prime minister, ministers of related ministries, and civilian members.

The meeting focused on the deliberation of 'AI and digital-based future media planning'. The goal of the plan is to respond to the fact that AI and digital have become key means of global competition, such as global companies such as Netflix analyzing users' data through AI and recommending personalized content. To this end, the government presented 'Planning-Production-Marketing and Distribution', 'Human Resources Development', and 'Flagship Project Promotion’ as three major policy tasks aimed at innovating the domestic industry and enhancing its competitiveness. 

Lee Jong-ho, Minister of Science and ICT, said, "We will take related policies so that digital can have a practical effect on improving the quality of life and economic vitality of the people by creating a foundation for domestic media and content companies to grow at a global level."
