Judd was born on 3 June 1928 in Missouri, United States. He studied philosophy at the College of William & Mary in the East before transferring to Columbia University in New York, where he obtained a Bachelor of Arts degree in philosophy. He established a reputation in the art sphere by authoring critiques for "Arts" magazine, spanning 1959 to 1965. His oeuvre started with a piece titled "Specific Objects," after that, he crafted hollow hexahedral boxes portraying a novel three-dimensional concept of "Real Space," unhampered by conventional drawing or sculpture. It is the domain of Minimalism. Judd progressed to generating and featuring highly original works from the late 1960s. He proceeded to showcase numerous iterations of the series, employing various construction materials, including metal, colored acrylic, plywood, and concrete.
