The National Museum of Modern and Contemporary Art Seoul (MMCA Seoul) is set to present a rich array of diverse exhibitions in 2025, generating great anticipation among domestic audiences.

MMCA Seoul is hosting the Korea Artist Prize 2024 exhibition, while several large-scale exhibitions for 2025 have also been announced. These exhibitions, spanning a variety of art forms and styles, will highlight the diversity and depth of contemporary art, offering audiences an enriching artistic experience.

Korea Artist Prize 2024 is an annual exhibition and award program co-hosted by MMCA and the SBS Cultural Foundation. This year, four artists-Kwon Hayoun, Yang Jungwook, Yoon Ji-young, and Jane Jin Kaisen-have been selected to showcase their new works and significant pieces. These artists explore contemporary society through various media, including digital art, installations, video, and performance. The exhibition runs from October 25, 2024, to March 23, 2025, with the final winner announced in February 2025. Starting in February 2025, MMCA will launch a series of large-scale exhibitions, including a solo exhibition by Ron Mueck, a retrospective of Kim Tschang-Yeul, the MMCA Permanent Collection Exhibition, and the LG OLED Series.

The Ron Mueck exhibition will delve into the essence of humanity through hyper-realistic sculptures, while the Kim Tschang-Yeul retrospective will offer an in-depth look into his iconic water drop paintings. Additionally, the MMCA Permanent Collection Exhibition will explore the evolution of contemporary Korean art, a significant part of our cultural heritage. The LG OLED Series will showcase media art that merges technology and creativity, further heightening audience expectations. Through Korea Artist Prize 2024 and its 2025 exhibition lineup, MMCA continues to explore new possibilities in contemporary art.

These exhibitions will broaden the boundaries of Korean and global art, providing audiences with opportunities to experience artistic diversity and depth. For more schedule details and viewing information, visit the official MMCA website at www.mmca.go.kr.
