Today, we can now draw on a smartphone or transform a photo into a painting with just one click. With the rapid advancement of digital technology and artificial intelligence (AI), the world of art is undergoing a massive transformation. Artists now hold tablets instead of brushes, and AI is now creating art independently.
AI programs like Midjourney and DALL·E generate images based on simple text prompts. For example, entering the prompt “a futuristic city in the style of Van Gogh’s Starry Night” can generate a stunning image within seconds. These tools offer new creative possibilities for both professionals and the general public.
However, some question whether AI-generated works can truly be called art. Art is often seen as a human expression filled with emotion and thought, while AI relies solely on data. Additionally, concerns about copyright arise as AI is often trained on existing artworks. The question of authorship-“Whose hand is behind this artwork?”remains a major topic of debate.
Still, digital art opens exciting doors for young creators. With just a tablet and simple tools, anyone can bring their imagination to life. Even those without traditional drawing skills can now express themselves through AI-assisted creativity.
Art continues to evolve with the times. Though it may now be shaped by code and algorithms instead of paint and canvas, this new form of creation is not replacing traditional art-it’s expanding what art can be.
