Google recently introduced a new update to the Gemini app. The update, officially named Gemini 2.5 Flash Image—also known as Nano Banana—has been gaining traction over the past few days due to its impressive performance in image editing.
Prior to the release of Nano Banana, consistency was a major issue in many image-related generative AI tools, as most results showed altered appearances and a noticeable decrease in quality.
Nano Banana’s main advantage is its ability to keep generated images consistent, even when shown from different angles.
It also excels at merging different images, all achievable through a single prompt without requiring expertise. As a demonstration of Nano Banana’s results, two images were provided showing how the AI edited a photo so that a yellow shirt was changed into a formal suit.

As shown in the provided images, only the clothing was altered from the original photo uploaded to the tool. Because it is now so easy to edit images with Google’s Nano Banana—even for those without basic editing knowledge—some speculate that it could soon replace Adobe Photoshop entirely.
Google has taken a huge step with the release of Nano Banana, but it is still too early to determine its impact on the industry. Further updates from Google will provide more insight into the true potential of this AI tool.
