Technology has developed at great speed. In March 9th, 2016, Deep Mind Challenge was held mainly as a competition between AI AlphaGo and Sedol Lee 9 Dan. It became a popular news that many people focused on the future AI. The competition resulted with AlphaGo’s victory of 4-1. It proved that AI as the 4th revolution in industry.

Likewise, AI is developing the quality of people’s lives. AI are able to overcome the people’s limit, and the convenience and usefulness is another plus point of AI. The usage of AI is not far away; smart phone, smart speaker, smart home, etc, many of them are adapted in our daily lives, providing convenience to many people. It primarily plays a significant role in people’s lives, and it takes over people’s jobs that available jobs are gradually decreasing.

In addition, AI offers not only convenience and benefits but also the counterpart of it. Our society is a digital age society, and this changes the fact that electronics are coexisting in our daily lives. AI, which has occupied people’s lives, has also affected occupation. This brings one question: Can AI, which has a huge influence on human beings, replace humans? Although AI is developing, and it occupies many occupations, AI cannot completely replace the human being. AI has better access on the data and information with faster and clearer delivery. However, there are jobs that cannot be replaced with robots. The most critical aspect is that AI does not have emotions, and they are not capable of judging. AI is not able to have expressions like humans. Therefore, areas of jobs that require creativity such as art cannot be replaced because AI is not able to recognize every emotion of human with their data input.

Moreover, a job, which has a lot of interconnection with people, also cannot be be replaced with AI. Usually, devices cannot fully recognize or understand people’s life pattern. Therefore, this will end up in miscommunication with the AI and humanity. In addition, AI are not able to share emotions with human beings. People cannot build a firm relationship with AI because they cannot share emotions and produce subjective thoughts without supportive data. Numbers are able to count and give answers, but emotions are not able to measure or give an answer to. Human’s psychological mindset is the most difficult part to scientifically display. Objective view of AI can hardly define the pattern of human’s subjective emotion from a subjective mind. For instance in the Deep Mind Challenge, AlphaGo could not tell the tension of anxiety or pleasure of victory. This showed how AI cannot understand the feelings of humans, nor express emotion.

AI cannot fully understand human’s emotions nor make judgments. Although some can urge that AI can input more data to judge, indeed AI is not able to judge in spontaneous situations or in a short period of time. An issue, which has kept on being focused on, has occurred with an autonomous car. An autonomous car was developed to pursue convenience. However, artificial intelligence of the car was unable to make decisions in unexpected situations out in the traffic only with the inputted manual.

Nonetheless, the 4th industry evolved to bolser AI even in cars, they are still incapable of fully handling situations on the road. For example, if there are two self-driving cars on the road, and both cars are capable of judging, they would not have issues of controlling the speed and direction. However, when there are many cars surrounding not only on the front and the back but also left and right, it would be difficult to face unforeseen situations. If the autonomous cars just follow the inputted manual, it is highly possible for it to fall to destruction in the absence of even a little intervene of a person.

The last reason why AI cannot replace humanity is because AI is not composed of the complete autonomy. Under human’s creation, AI is valuable on a line of inputted data that are made up of human’s brain. To elaborate, AI is incompetent of situations that are not educated. The competition against AlphaGo and Sedol Lee 9 Dan exemplifies that AlphaGo made a series of mistakes. AlphaGo had an erroneous situation that was unable to jude the move 78 to solve, which portrays the limit of a machinery. Moreover, the process of education of AI is a result of human’s manual labor. Therore, AI’s intelligence is proportional to the autonomy. Unlike humans that are capable of self-demonstration that follows a product of intelligence, AI has low autonomy compared to its high intelligence. Based on the fact, high intelligence of AI has involvement of the person who educates AI behind. Thus, AI cannot be intelligent without human’s assistance. In a same way, although AI consists higher intelligence and has more inputted data that people, it is important to give restriction of AI on human that gives incomplete judgements and emotions.

AI that only uses inputted and limited data cannot replace human beings. In consequence, artificial intelligence has been developed through a long process with results with convenience for people. Although AI is the 4th industrial revolution and often occupies humanity, AI is still incomplete forms of people’s brain. As a result, AI cannot develop without human’s aid; therefore, it cannot replace human beings.

인공지능 AI,인간을 대체할 수 있을까?
-인공지능 AI의 한계-

시간이 지날수록 기술은 나날이 발전해오고 있다. 지난 2016년 3월 9일에 진행되었던 딥 마인드 챌린지에서 인공지능(AI)‘알파고' 대‘이세돌’9단의 대전은 인공지능의 미래의 발전에 이목을 이끈 이슈다.이세돌과 인공지능의 대결은 4승 1패로 인공지능이 4차 산업혁명의 발전을 증명해냈다. 이처럼 인공지능의 기술은 사람과 유사한 능력과 무한한 발전 능력을 갖추어 4차 산업혁명의 영역을 차지했다.사람이 할 수 있는 능력을 넘어서,무한적인 인공지능을 이용하여 인간의 한계치를 넘어설 수 있고, 그의 편리함과 유용함이 인공지능의 사용을 증가시켰다. 인공지능의 사용은 우리 삶의 가까이 있다. 스마트폰, 스마트 스피커, 스마트 홈 등등 실제 생활에 많이 적용되어 사람들에게 편리함을 주고있다. 이 편리함은 주로 사람이 하는 일을 대신하기 때문에 사람들의 일감이 어느정도 줄어들었다.

인공지능은 생활의 편리함과 유익함만 주는 것이 아닌 그 이면이 있다.
우리의 사회는 디지털 사회로 바뀌면서 스마트 폰,스마트 스피커,스마트 홈 등등이 우리 인간의 영역에 정착되어 바뀌었다. 인간의 영역에 오랫동안 정착이 되어버린 인공지능은 우리 인간의 직업 군에도 영향을 끼쳤다. 인간에게 많은 영향력을 끼치는 인공지능은 과연 인간을 대체할 수 있을까?

인공지능이 아무리 발전하고,이미 많은 직업들의 영역에 정착되어 더욱 발전하여 도입되고 있음에도 불구하고, 인공지능이 완벽히 사람과 그 직업을 대체 할 수 없다. 인공지능은 사람보다 더 많은 양의 데이터와, 사람 이상으로 정보와 그의 전달이 빠르다는 장점이 있다. 인공지능을 비롯해 사람과 비슷하게 창조된 로봇들이 있음에도 불구하고, 사람을 그 로봇들이 대체할 수 없는 이유가 있다. 그중 가장 치명적인 단점은 인공지능은 감정이 없다는 것과 판단능력이 완전하지 못하다는 것이다. 인간과 같은 감정을 가지지 못해서 인간만이 유일하게 가지고 있는 공감능력이 대체 될 수 없어서, 예술처럼 창조적인 감정이 필수로 된 직업들을 인공지능이 대체할 수 없다. 입력된 데이터만으로는 인간의 무한한 감정을 헤아릴 수 없다. 더불어 인공지능이 대체할 수 없는 직업 중 가장 대표적인 것은 사람과의 접촉이 많은 직업이다. 평소 스마트 스피커나  스마트폰에서도 인간의 말 또는 명령을 한번에 알아듣지 못할 가능성이 크다는 것을 볼 수 있다. 이처럼 아직 인공지능은 사람과 많이 접촉하는 선에서 할 수 있는 일이 매우 적고, 한 번에 사람의 말을 알아듣는 능력이 현재까지는 적으며, 인공지능이 인간을 대체할 수 없는 한계를 볼 수 있다. 더불어 인공지능은 사람과 감정을 나눌 수 없다. 인간과 인공지능은 종속관계로 창조된 관계이므로 감정을 나눌 수 없는데다가 인공지능은 인간과 같은 자아가 없어 자발적으로 입력된 데이터의 도움없이 주관적인 감정을 생성하는 것이 불가능하다.

감정을 표현해 낼 수 있는 단어가 무한한 것처럼 그 감정의 개수를 셀 수 없으며 그 감정이 무엇인지 정확히 데이터로 나타낼 수 없기 때문이다. 인간의 심리적인 마음은 과학의 기술로 완벽히 헤아리지 못한 가장 큰 영역 중 하나이다. 객관적인 시선의 인공지능은 인간의 주관적인 마음에서 주관적인 감정을 어떻게 만들어내는지 원리나 패턴 등 하나로 정의하지 못한다.예로는 딥 마인드 챌린지에서 ‘알파고’와 이세돌의 대결에서,‘알파고’는 사람처럼 경기에 대한 긴장에 의한 불안함과 승리에 대한 기쁨을 느끼지 못하고 오직 지능이 높은 기계일 뿐이다.  따라서 그에 맞는 주관적인 감정을 인공지능이 파악하지 못하므로 인간의 감정을 표현하지도 헤아릴 수도 없는 단점이 있다.

그리고 인공지능이 대체 할 수 없는 또 한가지는 판단 능력이다. 인공지능이 더 많은 양의 데이터로 행동을 입력하여 판단을 할 수 있다고 가정할 수 있지만 실제로 돌발상황에서의 판단능력 또는 짧은 시간 동안에서 판단할 수 있는 능력을 가지고 있지 않다. 한창 이슈가 되는 자동차의 자율주행을 예로 들어도 이 또한 사람에게 편리함을 추구하기 위한 발전이나 완전한 안전성을 지키지 못하는 면이 있다. 자동차의 인공지능은 운전자가 지정하는 속도에 맞춰 편리하게 운전을 하지만도로 위의 돌발상황에서 인공지능은 정해진 메뉴얼대로의 상황 밖에서의 판단 능력은 완전하지 못하다. 자동차의 자율 주행을 지원하는 자동차들은 아직까지도 100% 사람의 개입 없이 사용되지 못한다. 4차산업이 발전하여 자동차까지도 도입한 인공지능 능력은 아직까지도 도로 위에서 많이 일어나는 갑작스러운 상황들에 대처할 수 없다. 예를 들어 두 차가 모두 자율주행 차일 경우 두 차 사이에서의 상황을 판단하여 속도를 줄이거나 높일 수는 있지만 도로 위에는 더 많은 수의 차량들이 있고 앞과 뒤 뿐만 아니라 좌우의 변수 상황도 있을 수 있기 때문에 매뉴얼에 입력된 대로 실행되는 자율주행차는 아직까지는 판단능력이 자발적인 인간의 판단 능력과 같이 완전하지 않으므로 조금이라도 인간의 판단 개입 없이 실행되지 못한다.

그리고 인공지능이 인간을 대체할 수 없는 이유 중 치명적인 단점은 완벽한 자율성이 이루어지지 않았다는 것이다. 인간의 창조 아래에서 인공지능은 인간이 만든 데이터가 입력되어 학습 받은 내용 선에서 유능하다. 그 말은 인공지능은 학습 받지 않은 내용이나 추론을 할 수 없는 상황이 발생할 때는 무능하다는 것이다. 그 예로‘알파고’가 이세돌과의 대결 중 이세돌 9단의 78수에서 실수를 연발했다는 것이다. 그 78수가 무엇인지 인지하는 것에 문제가 생겨서 새로운 변수, 돌발상황에 대처하지 못하는 인공지능, 아울러 기계의 한계를 보여준다.인공지능이 학습하는 모든 과정들은 모두 인간의 노동으로 인한 결과물이다.따라서 인공지능은 지능과 자율성이 비례하지 않는다. 스스로 생각하는 자율성과 이에 잇따른 지능이 동시에 생성 가능한 인간과 달리 인공지능은 매우 높은 지능에 비해 자율성이 매우 낮다. 이를 기반으로 인공지능의 높은 지능 조차도 그 뒤에서는 인공지능을 학습시키는 인간이 있으므로 인간의 도움 없이 인공지능이 지능을 갖지 못한다. 더불어 인공지능은 스스로 선택과 판단을 인간의 개입없이 할 수 없다. 인공지능의 자율성 여부도 인간의 손에 달려 있다는 것이 흥미로운 점이다.

이처럼 인공지능은 인간보다 더 많은 데이터와 높은 지능을 소지하고 있지만 인간의 판단 능력과 감정 그리고 자율성을 완전하게 이루지 못하여 인간을 대체할 수 없다는 한계점이 있다. 인간의 주관적인 마음과 돌발상황 또는 예측 불가한 상황에서의 판단 능력을 학습된 내용과 데이터로만 사용하는 인공지능은 인간을 대체하지 못한다.
