Now is the time to consider global warming seriously. Will it be possible to reduce Global Warming?

Global warming is a phenomenon where the average temperature of the Earth's surface increases. Usually, healthy Earth has a certain amount of greenhouse gases that maintain an average temperature of 15 degrees celsius. The global average temperature will increase if greenhouse gas is produced more than necessary. The CNET reported that global warming has accelerated climate change, reaching the highest temperature on Earth in the last five years.

Discontinuous incidence is happening on Earth which is very unusual. So why has climate change gone worse in recent years? Formerly, climate change was a natural phenomenon, but after the Industrial Revolution, climatologists see this change as being affected by humans. The destruction and pollution of the earth’s environment, including urbanization, industrialization, and deforestation, have a lot of effects on climate change. Korea also takes part in impacting global warming.

Korea is the world's ninth-largest in CO2 emissions. Also, Korea is one of the world's top five plastic consumers which also have a huge impact on the increase in greenhouse gases. Due to this serious problem that Korea has, the Korean government announced a policy to achieve a 37% reduction of greenhouse gas rate by 2030. To reduce greenhouse gas production, every individual must make their efforts.

People should use less petroleum products such as plastics or plastic bags. Instead, they should use the reusable bag. Moreover, people need to reduce unnecessary energy use. For example, unplugging all the outlet while they are not using at home will be a significant effort. The resources and energy that people consume recklessly to their convenience will come back to them with a much more inconvenient life. People’s small effort will change the future.

지구 온난화, 이제 우리의 생명을 위협하고 있다

지구 온난화를 심각하게 고려해야 할 때가 왔다. 우리는 과연 지구온난화를 줄일 수 있을까?
지구 온난화는 지구 표면의 평균 온도가 올라가는 현상이다. 보통 건강한 지구는 평균 15도의 온도를 유지하는 일정량의 온실가스를 가지고 있다. 온실가스 배출량이 필요 이상으로 늘어나면 세계 평균 기온이 상승한다. 지구 온난화가 기후 변화를 가속시켜 최근 5년 동안 지구 표면 온도가 가장 높은 것으로 나타났다고 CNET가 보고했다.

요즘 지구상에서 불연속적인 기후변화가 일어나고 있다. 그런데 왜 최근 몇 년 동안 기후 변화가 더 심해졌을까? 이전에는 기후변화가 자연적인 원인이었다. 그러나 산업혁명 이후 기후학자들은 이 변화를 인간에 의한 것으로 본다. 도시화, 산업화, 삼림 벌채 등이 시작 되면서 지구 환경의 파괴와 오염은 기후에 많은 영향을 미친다. 자연적인 기후변화는 긴 기간을 걸쳐 바뀌었지만 인간이 자초한 변화는 점점 빠르게 악화되고 있다. 한국도 지구 온난화에 큰 영향을 미친다.

한국은 무려 이산화탄소 배출량 세계 9위를 기록했다. 게다가 한국은 세계 5위로 플라스틱 소비율이 높은 국가이다. 플라스틱은 온실가스 증가에 가장 큰 영향을 미치는데 많은 사람들은 그것을 인지하지 못하고 무자비하게 플라스틱을 쓴다. 한국이 안고 있는 이 심각한 문제 때문에 한국 정부는 ‘2030년까지 37%의 온실가스 감축을 달성하자' 라는 목표를 발표했다. 온실 가스 생산을 줄이고 지구온난화를 줄이기 위해서는 사람들 개개인의 노력이 필요하다.

플라스틱이나 비닐봉지 같은 석유제품 사용을 줄여야한다. 그 대신 천가방을 장바구니로 사용하거나 이미 쓴 비닐봉지를 재사용하는 방법도 있다. 또, 사람들은 불필요한 에너지 사용을 줄여야 한다. 예를 들어 집에서 사용하고 있지 않거나 불필요한 전기 콘센트들을 뽑아 놓는 습관을 기르기만 해도 에너지 소비량이 반은 줄어든다. 우리의 편리를 위해서 함부로 쓰는 에너지와 자원은 미래에 큰 불편함으로 다가올 수 있다. 지금부터라도 사소한 것들부터 바꾸기 시작하면 친환경적인 미래를 만들 수 있을 것이다.
