Did you ever hear about the most brutal experiments: animal product testing?

Animals are forced to swallow extensive quantities of chemical testing materials or to spread chemical substance in their eyes or on their skin. However, these days, more people are opposed to animal testing, to the point that some companies use the Cruelty-Free mark to promote it. For these reasons, many opinions about animal testing are being heard.

 Firstly, animals have rights. They also feel pain just like humans. Nevertheless, they can not express their feelings nor stand for themselves, so their opinion and rights are violated when they are used in the experiment. They are compelled to do extreme experiments and get permanent damage or death. Especially, testing toxic is the most severe inspection for animals. The most general toxic test is the LD50 test. It gives huge effects on laboratory animals. The LD50 test is proceeding with a specific time and making animals take a dose that induces death. For this test, researchers connect animals camouflage to tubes that pump huge amounts of test products into their stomachs until they die.

Secondly, between animals and humans, 1.16% of diseases are shared. Also, the FDA reported that 92% of the animal tests did not pass the human clinical trials. Accordingly, even the product passed animal product testing, it causes side effects to humans. For example, Thalidomide was passed through the animal test, but a pregnant woman produced a deformed child. Additionally, antidiarrheal, Clioquinol, nearly 10,000 people have lost sight or suffered from paralysis, and hundreds have died. Vioxx which is an antiinflammatory analgesic drug generated 27,500 heart attacks. However, Aspirin, for example, caused issues with seven types of animals, but it was safe even to a pregnant woman.

 In conclusion, people should consider and respect animal rights. Also, biologically, side effects on animals are totally different from what happens to humans. Episkin is an one way to replace animal testing. This is more effective than animal testing. Therefore, we need to actively develop alternative methods for animal testing and to prevent animal testing by establishing laws in the country.

잔인한 동물실험 대체 방법 개발해야

가장 잔인한 실험, 동물 제품 실험을 들어본 적이 있는가?
어떤 사람들은 동물을 실험하는 것이 그 제품으로부터 독성 효과를 측정함으로써 인간을 위한 더나은 제품을 만들 수 있다고 생각한다. 동물들은 많은 양의 실험물질을 삼키거나 눈이나 피부에 화학 물질을 주입받는다.

심지어 어떤 사람들은 동물실험으로 의학 기술 발전과 신제품 개발을 하기 위해 꼭 필요한 것이라고 생각한다.
반면에, 최근 많은 사람들이 동물 실험에 반대하고 있으며 이를 의식해서 일부 회사들은 제품을 홍보하기 위해 동물실험 반대 마크를 표기하기도 한다.

이와 같이 동물실험에 대한 많은 찬반 의견이 제기되고 있는데 동물실험이 불필요한 이유는 다양하다.
첫째로, 동물들도 권리가 있다. 그들은 인간처럼 고통을 느낀다.
하지만, 동물은 감정을 표현할 수 없기 때문에 그들의 의견과 권리는 침해된다.
동물은 극단적인 실험을 하도록 강요받고 피해나 죽음을 맞이한다. 동물도 사람과 고통에 대해서 똑같은 반응을 보인다. 특히 독성검사는 동물에게 가장 혹독한 검사다. 가장 일반적인 독성 테스트는 드레이즈 테스트와 LD50 테스트다. 드레이즈 테스트 동안 사람들은 동물의 각막과 다른 조직의 손상을 감시한다. 대부분의 동물들이 실험테스트로 인해 눈이 멀어서 죽는다. 이와 같은 잔인한실험은 동물들의 목숨을 불필요하게 낭비하는 것이다.
LD50 테스트는 특정 시간동안 진행되며 동물들에게 엄청난 양의 독성물질을 위장에 주입하며 그들이 죽을 때까지 실험한다. 이 실험은 며칠에서 몇 주가 걸리고, 동물들의 결말은 죽음이다.
둘째로, 동물과 인간은 1.16%의 질병을 공유한다. 따라서 동물 실험의 효과는 불충분하다. 또한 FDA는 동물실험에서 입증된 92%가 인간의 임상실험을 통과하지 못했다고 보고했다.

따라서 제품이 동물실험을 통과해도 인체에 부작용을 일으킬 수 있다.
그 예로 입덧 치료제인 탈리도마이드가 동물실험을 통과했지만 그 약품을 복용한 임산부가 기형아를 낳았다. 이것 뿐만이 아니다. 동물실험에 통과한 안티이디나힐, 클리오키놀을 복용한 약 만명의 사람들이 시력을 잃거나 마비를 겪었고, 수백명이 죽었다. 오프렌으로 61명이 사망하고 항염증 진통제인 비옥스가 2만7500명에게 심장마비를 일으켰다.

이와는 반대로 아스피린은 7종의 동물 중 이상을 일으키지만 인간의 경우에는 임산부에게도 안전한 약품이다.

결론적으로, 사람들은 동물의 권리를 고려하고 존중해야 한다.
또한 동물에 대한 부작용은 인간에게 일어나는 것과는 전혀 다르다. 에피스킨은 동물실험을 대체할 수 있는 실험인 더 나은 선택이다. 또한 우리는 동물실험을 위한 대체 방법을 적극적으로 개발하고, 국내에서 법을 제정하여 동물실험을 예방하기 위한 대안을 세워야 한다.
