Barack Obama, the 44th president of the United States of America and the first African- American president, once stated that a person should learn to cherish the journey and not the result. Although a vast majority of the world believes that people should find lucrative jobs, jobs that a person finds fulfilling are more productive. When a person finds a fulfilling career, their passion encourages improvements in their works and their journey is more memorable and jubilant.
Passion is a crucial side effect of finding a job that is fulfilling as it runs a person’s ability to work. Workers who have passion in their jobs have been found to improve substantially than people who work jobs that pay well and they are seeking to improve. Passion drives a person to improve their work because they are passionate about what they do. Anne Beiler, an American businesswoman and founder of Auntie Anne's Pretzels, stuck to her job because of her affection for baking. If Anne did not have a passion for baking, she would have switched jobs to a job with exponential pay. However, because Anne had a passion for baking, she stuck with the pretzel industry even though her business was failing. With her passion, Anne was able to overcome obstacles and improve notably to achieve the “World Famous Pretzel”. Anne was able to attain her “World Famous Pretzel” because of what she did. If Anne did not have devotion for the pretzel industry, she would not have worked painstakingly to improve her pretzels. However, because Anne had for her work, she did not give up and kept trying new recipes and methods to the “Best Pretzel in the World”. Finding a job that a person finds fulfilling is vital because those jobs come with the passion which opens doors for improvements.
A job that is fulfilling comes with a memorable journey than the journeys of workers with decent-paying jobs. When a person works for a lucrative job, they are working all the time all with the same end goal: to generate money. However, when a person works a job that they find fulfilling, they find themselves to be more content with each day because they are doing what they admire to do. Jose Mujica, the 40th president of Uruguay, never considered the end goal but was always living for the journey and the memories. Mujica came from a very poor background where his parents were bankrupted which led Jose to join a movement group. However, he overcame that part of his life and turned his life around which led him to become an acknowledged president. Jose did not run for president for the money or fame. However, he ran for president because he wanted to change his country for the better. Mujica is now established to be "the world's humblest head of state" as he donates 90% of his monthly salary to charities that benefit poor people and small entrepreneurs. Now, he can look back on his life and remember the journey he had to gain to where he is now. The journey that comes with working a well-paying job is always regretful but the journey that comes with a fulfilling job is always memorable and longer-lasting.
Jobs that come with passion and a unique journey are more impactful to one’s life than a job with a high salary. The passion encourages a person to improve and reflect on their mistakes and the journey is always entertaining and memorable. People should find jobs that they find passion in, then the memorable journey will follow.
