Social distancing refers to infection control measures or campaigns that maintain distance between people to prevent the spread of infections in the community of Covid-19. Cleanliness is the most important thing in this campaign, such as washing hands after coming back home and wearing a mask when going out.

There are one to three levels in social distancing. First of all, the first level is determined when fewer than 50 confirmed cases occur, and most public life is possible, but distancing in life proceeds. The second level is determined when there are 50-100 confirmed cases, and some of the public life is canceled, and when the number of confirmed cases is higher than that, it is upgraded to the third level, and most public life and public gatherings are prohibited.

Since the first outbreak of coronavirus and social distancing, the number of confirmed cases has significantly decreased. In particular, social distancing is very important, especially since coronavirus is infected with people through the nasal passages. For example, if you look at the spread of infection in the church, the number of confirmed cases increased sharply due to the lack of a mask and other social distanced properly. Of course, social distancing is uncomfortable and difficult to keep, but in order to overcome the Covid-19 as soon as possible, people will have to keep the step-by-step social distancing.

 사회적 거리두기의 중요성

사회적 거리두기는 코로나 19의 지역사회 감염 확산을 막기 위해 사람들 사이의 거리를 유지하는 감염 통제 조치 혹은 캠페인을 이르는 말이다. 이 캠페인은 청결을 가장 중요하게 생각하는데 예를들어 외출 후 손씻기, 외출 때 마스크 착용하기 등이 있다.

사회적 거리두기에는 총 1~3단계가 있다. 우선 1단계는 50명미만의 확진자가 발생했을 때 결정되고 대부분의 공공생활은 가능하지만 생활속 거리두기가 진행된다. 2단계는확진자가 50-100명일 때 결정되며 공공생활의 일부는 취소되고 확진자가 그 이상이 되면 3단계로 격상되고 대부분의 공공생활과 기관은 금지된다.

처음 코로나가 발생하고 사회적 거리두기를 시행한 후로 확진자의 수는 확연히 감소하였다. 특히 코로나는 비말을 통하여 서로에게 감염되기 때문에 사회적 거리두기가 특히 중요하다. 예를 들어, 이번 교회감염을 보면 마스크 미착용 등 사회적 거리두기를 제대로 하지 않아 확진자 수가 급격히 증가하였다. 물론 사회적 거리두기가 불편하고 지키기 힘들지만 하루빨리 코로나를 극복하기 위해서는 사람들은 단계별 사회적 거리두기를 잘 지켜야할 것이다.
