What events happened in 2020?
Some scientific achievements are successfully done in 2020 like NASA promoting the Mars 2020 mission by launching Perseverance Rover and the Ingenuity helicopter drone that would seek ancient life on Mars. China also launched Tianwen (a mars exploration rover) on July 23rd which will reach Mars in February of 2021 that is similar to the date of Perseverance’s landing. United Arab Emirates (U.A.E) also launched their own Mars Mission rover called Al Amal on July 19th. Countries are starting their own space exploration and competing against other countries. There are also news like Astronauts of Space X Crew Dragon returning from the ISS (International Space Station) in August.

What are the remaining events?
Still, there are lots of events left for the rest of the year. The closest event will happen on October 20th where NASA will try to collect samples from an asteroid called Bennu that passes through the earth every six-year. NASA will exploit OSIRIS-REx to collect samples of at least 60 grams so that it could help scientists study more about the history of the solar system. OSIRIS-Rex was launched in 2016 and landed on Bennu in 2018. After gathering all the data, it will return to the earth in 2023. For more news, a meteor shower near the constellation Aquarius will occur from October to November. Without any equipment, 20 meteors per hour will be observable through human eyes.

Furthermore, November 2nd of 2020 would be the 20th anniversary of Human Presence on the International Space Station. NASA is currently counting down the date to celebrate the continuous human presence and cooperation of countries. The last event for 2020 is scheduled to be on December 21st, which is a day of conjunction between Saturn and Jupiter. Jupiter will be 0.1° South of Saturn and 30° East of the sun. The distance between Saturn and Jupiter will be the closest since the year 1623 and the conjunction is observable from the Capricornus constellation after sunset. The rest of the year 2020 should be checked more closely since there are more events left than these events.
