BTS dropped their latest song “Dynamite” which is their first song with the lyrics entirely in English. It is living up to its name: BTS has broken Guinness World Records titles with the music video for “Dynamite,” which became the most-viewed YouTube video in 24 hours. The video received 101.1 million views in 24 hours globally, making it the biggest premiere in YouTube history. The nearly four-minute video is composed of colorful scenes featuring the seven members with the retro concept costumes. A week after the music video was released, the septet has swept 4 MTV Video Music Awards. BTS was nominated for Best Pop, Best K-pop, Best Choreography, and Best Group this year for its fourth full-length album "Map of the Soul: 7" released in February and its lead track "On."

"Dynamite" is an upbeat, retro song perfect for jamming out while social distancing. The single became a favorite of the worldwide fans, and their comeback was sincerely a gift to their global fandom ‘ARMY’, currently struggling to deal with the COVID-19 pandemic. The single brought a few historic moments for the K-pop industry: "Dynamite" became the first song to reach No. 1 on the Billboard Hot 100 by South Korean artists. "Dynamite" ranked second on Billboard's Hot 100 chart for the consecutive week after spending the first two weeks on the chart at No. 1.

Starting from this month, Big Hit Entertainment, run by CEO Bang Si-hyuk, will launch on the Korean stock market (KOSPI), publicly offering 7.13 million shares to raise between 748.7 billion won ($630.8 million) and 962.6 billion won. If the market value of Big Hit becomes 4.6 trillion won, each BTS member's market value will be 520 billion won ($446.8 million). Even the lowest estimate is larger than the total sum of the Big 3 agencies in Korea: JYP Entertainment with 1.3 trillion won, YG Entertainment with 920 billion won, and SM Entertainment with 875 billion won making a total of 3.1 trillion won.
Now, BTS is dreaming of performing as a stand-alone stage and winning a prize at the Grammy Awards 2021. With the successful results of "Dynamite," will BTS finally receive their first Grammy Award?

'다이너마이트'처럼 터전 방탄소년단의 2020

방탄소년단은 그룹 최초의 영어 싱글인 '다이너마이트'를 발매했다. 24시간 만에 가장 많이 본 유튜브 영상이 된 BTS의 '다이너마이트' 뮤직비디오는 마침내 기네스 세계기록 타이틀을 갈아치우며 그 이름이 뜻하는 바와 같이 폭발적인 행보를 보이고 있다. 이 영상은 전 세계 24시간 동안 1억110만 건의 조회수를 기록하며 유튜브 역사상 가장 큰 프리미어가 되었다. 4분 가까이 진행된 이 영상은 7명의 멤버가 복고 콘셉트 의상을 입고 등장하는 다채로운 장면들로 구성되어 있다. 뮤직비디오가 공개된 지 일주일 후, 4개의 MTV 비디오 뮤직 어워드를 휩쓸며 방탄소년단은 올해 2월 발표한 정규 4집 '맵 오브 더 소울:7'과 그의 리드트랙 'ON' 으로 올해 베스트팝, 베스트 케이팝, 베스트 안무, 베스트그룹의 후보에 올랐다.

'다이너마이트'는 사회적 거리두기 상황에서도 신나게 즐길 수 있는 흥겨운 복고풍의 곡이다. 이 싱글은 전세계 팬들의 사랑을 받았고, 현재 COVID-19 대유행 상황에서 고군분투하고 있는 전세계의 ARMY 팬들에게 진정한 선물로 다가왔다. ‘다이너마이트’는 한국 가수가 빌보드 핫 100에서 1위를 차지한 첫 번째 곡이 되었으며, 케이팝 산업에 역사적인 순간을 선사하였다. 또한 다이너마이트는 빌보드 핫 100에서 2주간 1위를 기록한 뒤, 그 후 1주일 동안은 2위를 기록하는 성과를 보였다.

방시혁 대표가 운영하는 빅히트엔터테인먼트는 이달부터 국내 주식시장(코스피)에 713만주를 공개 공모해 7487억원(6억3080만달러)에서 9626억원 가량을 조달한다. 빅히트의 시가총액이 4조6000억원이 되면 방탄소년단 멤버 한 명당 시가총액은 5200억원(4억4680만달러)이 된다. 심지어 가장 낮은 추정치는 JYP엔터테인먼트 1조3000억원, YG엔터테인먼트 9200억원, SM엔터테인먼트 8750억원 등 국내 빅3 기획사의 총액보다 더 크다.
이제 방탄소년단은 그래미 어워즈 2021에서 입상하는 것을 꿈꾸고 있다. '다이너마이트'의 성공으로 방탄소년단이 첫 그래미상을 받을 수 있을까?
