In our society, many robot technologies have been developing and applied to everyday life. Among them, artificial intelligence is the most commonly used technology in society today. Artificial intelligence is a smart brain of technology that can control and control the most common things, such as smartphones, smart TVs, and even home-use fluorescent lights and elevators. But our society has discovered not only brain-based technology but also hand-held technology.

In 2019, MIT selected ten outstanding scientific issues, and one of them was a robot with excellent hand skills. MIT has established and announced ten scientific topics over the years, and the reason why 2019's announcement was more popular and controversial was that Bill Gates participated.

Why did Bill Gates and other experts choose this robot technology as the number one? The reason was the expectation that the robots would be able to do more complicated and delicate movements by deepening the already developed AI technology. Are they reacting to this top-ranking? Open AI has developed a robot-controlled system called Dactyl. It is a smart system that allows people to successfully tune a cube with one hand that they find challenging to do. Besides, a team of researchers from an engineering college in Singapore succeeded in assembling wood furniture faster than humans.

So, we have to find and challenge ways to develop this artificial intelligence and other technologies by converging them. These advanced technologies will be more precise and delicate than they are now, and robots will be accountable for a more significant percentage than the percentage of the people in the industry in the future.

로봇이 인간의 두뇌역할뿐만 아니라 손역할도 한다면?

우리 사회에는 많은 로봇기술들이 발달되어 일상생활에 적용되어 오고 있다. 그 중에서도 현재 사회에서 제일 흔하게 모든 사람들이 사용하고 있는 기술은 인공지능이다. 인공지능은 스마트폰, 스마트TV, 심지어는 집에서 사용하는 형광등이나 엘리베이터 등의 아주 일상적인 것도 통제하고 조종할 수 있는 기술의 똑똑한 두뇌이다. 하지만 우리 사회는 두뇌 역할만 하는 기술뿐만 아니라 손이 되어줄 수 있는 기술도 발견하였다.

MIT는 ‘2019년에 주목할 과학 이슈 10가지를 선정하였는데, 그 중에 1위가 손재주가 뛰어난 로봇이었다. 수년간 MIT는 매해 과학 이슈 10가지를 선정하여 발표하였는데 그 중 2019년 발표가 사람들에게 가장 이슈가 된 이유는 빌 게이츠가 참여하였기 때문이다.

왜 빌 게이츠와 다른 전문가들은 이 로봇 기술을 1위로 선정하였까?
그 이유는 기존 인공지능의 기술을 심화시켜 더 어렵고 섬세한 동작들을 로봇들이 하게 된다는 기대감 때문이었다. 사람들은 왜 이렇게 1위에 선정된 로봇기술에 크게 반응을 하는 것일까? 오픈 AI는 다크틸이라는 로봇 조종 시스템을 개발하였다. 사람도 쉽게 할 수 없는 한손으로 큐브 맞추기 기술을 성공적으로 해내는 똑똑한 시스템인 다크틸. 이 외에도 싱가포르의 한 공과대학의 연구팀은 로봇팔이 나무가구를 조립하는 작업을 사람보다 더 빠른 시간내에 성공했다고 한다.

이렇게 우리는 인공지능과 다른 기술들을 융복합 시켜서 더욱 더 발전시킬 수 있는 방향을 찾고 도전하여야 한다. 이러한 발전된 기술들은 지금보다 더 정밀하고 섬세해질 것으로 미래에는 로봇이 산업에서 사람보다 더 많은 비중을 차지할 것으로 전망되고 있다.
