The Importance of Sleep in Adolescence

Many students who enter adolescence often do not get enough sleep due to their studies. There are also many cases of sleep disorders such as insomnia and narcolepsy. Adolescence, however, is a time when getting enough sleep is more important than other times.

First, insufficient sleep time increases the probability of adolescent depression. Adolescents get a lot of stress about their studies and careers. However, studies have shown that sleep and depression are deeply related. The body's tiredness and consequent mental problems make adolescent depression worse.

In addition, sufficient sleep affects the psychological state of adolescence. The results showed that the human brain removes toxins accumulated in the brain during sleep. Moreover, people who sleep more than 7-8 hours a day are more psychologically stable than those who sleep less than 5-6 hours a day, and their brain efficiency increases.

Regular sleeping habits are important in maintaining biorhythms for adequate sleep. A pre-sleep bath for blood circulation is also helpful, and you may not use your cell phone or eat food before going to bed. If you have severe sleep disorders, it is better to get a doctor's diagnosis than taking sleeping pills
