Blindness is a condition that denies an individual to see anything. They face many challenges, such as moving around, reading books, and living everyday life. The assistive devices come in handy because they assist the blind with challenges such as moving around because of their confidence. The devices are also beneficial in several ways. For instance, the guide dogs and canes help the blind person fall or go in the wrong direction. White canes are other options that assist the blind to objects like the braille. Dogs that are trained are essential because it assists the blind to navigate obstacles. The trained dog can also help blind people in therapy.

The purpose of the assistive devices is to help the blind improve or maintain independence and functioning by facilitating their general well-being and participation. Suitable examples of assistive devices include prostheses, visual aids, hearing aids, and computer hardware and software that increase their hearing, communication, vision, and mobility capacities. Anyone who uses such devices gets a lot of benefits because most of them can move freely and gain stability. Assistive devices also increase the confidence of the blind by making them more independent to prevent depending on others

A suitable example is a cane that assists in weight-bearing and balancing to reduce stress on an individual's ankles, joints, and knees. The canes are also available in a different style customized to suit any height. Assistive devices assist the blind to stop at curbs because the stick makes them recognize potential hazards. Due to this, they can move safely, especially if they are trained to use them. When a guide dog assists a blind man, he will be able to interact with others confidently. Even though they make new friends, the blind, who have assisted devices, also promote social interaction.

Assisted devices also bring adverse effects to the blind. First, canes may not offer 100% support to the user. Users of canes also need to do repetitive strains that may get stuck on uneven surfaces and cracks, making it difficult for them to maneuver. When the blind person does not set the cane's size properly, they end up getting pains and aches. Guide dogs also come with significant disadvantages. The first challenge is that they are expensive to take care of the dog because of the food. Also, dogs can attack the owner or a nearby person without reason, making it difficult for the blind person. Furthermore, researchers should figure out the best assistive devices to support blindness.

실명은 개인이 아무것도 보지 못하는 상태이다. 그들은 이동, 책 읽기 등의 일상 생활에서 많은 어려움에 직면한다.
이러한 시각장애인들을 위한 보조 장치는 혼자 돌아다니는 데에 어려움을 겪는 맹인들을 돕기에 여러면에서 매우 유용하다.

예를 들어 안내견과 지팡이는 시각 장애인이 넘어지지 않고 잘못된 방향으로 가지 않도록 도움을 준다. 흰색 지팡이는 시각 장애인이 점자와 같은 물건에 대해 도움을 주는 다른 옵션이다. 훈련된 개는 시각 장애인이 장애물을 탐색하는 데 도움이 되기 때문에 필수적이다. 또한 훈련된 개는 시각 장애인을 치료할 수 있도록 도와 주기도 한다.

보조 장치의 목적은 시각장애인이이 일반적인 복지와 참여를 촉진하여 독립성과 기능을 향상시키거나 유지하도록 돕는다. 보조 장치에는 시각 보조 장치, 보청기, 청각, 의사 소통, 시각 및 이동 능력을 증가시키는 컴퓨터 하드웨어 및 소프트웨어가 포함된다. 이러한 장치를 사용하는 사람은 대부분 자유롭게 이동하고 안정성을 얻을 수 있기 때문에 많은 이점을 얻는다. 보조 장치는 또한 다른 사람에게 의존하는 것을 방지하고 더 독립성을 키우도록 해주기 때문에 시각 장애인의 자신감을 높여 준다.

그 예로 개인의 발목, 관절 및 무릎에 가해지는 스트레스를 줄이기 위해 체중 부하 및 균형 조정을 돕는 지팡이가 있다. 지팡이는 모든 높이에 맞게 사용자 정의된 다른 스타일로도 제공된다. 보조 장치는 막대기가 잠재적인 위험을 인식하게 하므로 시각 장애인이 멈출 수 있도록 도와준다. 이로 인해 사용 교육을 받은 안내견의 경우 안전하게 이동할 수 있다. 맹인을 도와주는 안내견은 자신있게 다른 사람과 교류 할 수 있게 된다. 새로운 친구를 사귀더라도 안내견과 함께하는 시각 장애인의 사회적 상호 작용을 촉진해 준다.

하지만 보조 장치는 시각 장애인에게 불편함을 주기도 한다. 첫째, 지팡이는 사용자에게 100% 지원을 제공하지 않는다. 지팡이 사용자는 고르지 않은 표면과 균열에 달라 붙어 기동이 어려울 수 있기 때문에 더욱 주의를 해야 한다. 뿐만 아니라 시각 장애인이 지팡이의 크기를 제대로 설정하지 않으면 고통이 발생하기도 한다.

안내견에도 여러가지 단점이 있다. 안내견을 돌보는 데에는 식비 등의 많은 비용이 발생한다. 또한 개는 이유없이 주인이나 근처 사람을 공격 할 수 있어서 시각 장애인을 종종 곤란하게 한다. 이러한 문제를 해결하기 위해서 연구자들은 시각장애인들의 더 나은 삶을 지원할 수 있는 편리하고 경제적인 보조 장치를 개발해야 할 것이다.
