COVID-19 has changed our daily lives into something we have never imagined before, and this change continues. Take a look at the changes of COVID-19 has brought to the job and think about how future jobs will change after COVID-19.

First, let's look at how COVID-19 has changed the way people work.
For example, game companies were able to develop games only on company development servers. However, in line with work from home environment, game companies started to establish remote systems. Our school also created online systems so we could have online classes. These days, interviews are also not made face-to-face. The state of California in the U.S.A even conducted a bar exam online allowing foreign residents to take the exam in their own countries. To create this online, remote, class, and work environment, IT technology is needed, and this demand will increase further in the future. (Employment in the era of untact- KOTRA, Donga Newspaper)

Also, more and more people use food delivered in the morning or eat delivery food. Untack delivery and shared kitchen are also promising (the number of users of delivery's ethnic app increased by 1 million in 2020 compared to 2019). It has become impossible for companies to hold direct sales events like before. Instead, we make more use of online advertising. France said that jobs such as data experts, web managers, digital promotion and community managers, and digital project managers are promising through the National Employment Agency.

Another important area is the occupation related to healthcare. We are not familiar with jobs such as professional clinical nurses, personal health assistants, and medical service managers. However, these jobs are already needed in other countries. It is also expected that there will be more demand for non-face-to-face medical treatment or drug provision (Myungji Hospital has opened an app that can provide non-face-to-face services in Korea). However, caution is needed as these non-face-to-face services can lead to inappropriate drug misuse.

On the other hand, many people have suffered from COVID-19. People working in the aviation and travel industries have lost their jobs. The travel industry will probably go back to normal when Corona calms down. However, in the future, there may be products that show videos or stimulate people's brains to make them feel like they went on a trip rather than traveling in person.

Corona has changed our lives so much, but I still prefer meeting people in person rather than meeting them on video. I wonder how much the development of science and technology can reduce this difference.

 
코로나 이후 미래 직업

코로나는 우리 일상을 이제까지 상상하지 못했던 모습으로 바꾸어 놓았고 이러한 변화는 지속되고 있다. 코로나가 직업에 가져온 변화를 살펴보고 이를 기반으로 코로나 이후 미래 직업이 어떻게 바뀔 것인지 생각해 본다.

먼저 코로나가 우리 주위 사람들이 일하는 모습을 어떻게 바꾸었는지 살펴보자. 게임회사들은 게임 개발 자체가 회사 개발 서버에서만 가능했지만 재택근무가 장기화되자 외부에서도 회사에 있는 것처럼 게임을 개발할 수 있는 특별한 원격 시스템을 갖추기 시작했다. 학교도 온라인 클래스를 사용할 수 있는 시스템을 만들어서 학생들이 집에서 온라인 수업을 할 수 있게 했다. 취업 인터뷰도 비대면으로 이루어지고 있으며 미국 캘리포니아주는 변호사 시험까지도 온라인으로 실시해 해외 거주자들도 자기 나라에서 시험을 볼 수 있게 했다.

이러한 온라인 업무, 원격 업무와 수업 환경을 만들기 위해 위해서는 컴퓨터 ? IT 기술이 필요한데 향후에도 이러한 필요는 더 늘어서 IT 정보기술 관련 수요가 크게 늘어날 것이라고 한다 (코트라 ‘언택트(비대면) 시대 해외 취업 길라잡이-동아일보 2020.9.20).

또한 많은 사람들이 아침에 배송해 오는 식품을 사용하거나 배달음식을 먹는 경우도 늘었다. 언택트 배달, 공유주방 등도 유망하다 (배달의 민족 앱 사용자가 2019년 대비 2020년 100만 명 증가). 기업들이 물건을 판매할 때도 예전처럼 직접 판매 행사를 하는 것이 불가능해졌다. 대신 우리는 온라인 광고를 더 많이 활용한다. 프랑스는 국가고용공단을 통해 데이터 전문가와 웹 관리자, 디지털 홍보 및 커뮤니티 매니저, 디지털 프로젝트 담당자 등의 직종이 유망하다고 했다.

또 하나 중요한 분야는 헬스케어와 관련된 직업이다. 전문 임상 간호사, 개인건강 보조원, 의료 서비스 매니저 등은 아직 우리에게 익숙하지 않은 이름이지만 이러한 직업들이 이미 다른 나라에서는 활발히 활동하고 있다고 한다. 비대면 의료 진료나 약품제공(우리나라에서도 명지병원이 비대면 서비스가 가능한 앱을 오픈했다)도 더 많은 수요가 있을 것이라 생각된다. 단지 이러한 비대면 서비스는 적절하지 않은 약물 오남용을 불러올 수 있으니 주의가 필요하다.

코로나로 인해 어려움을 겪고 있는 사람들도 많다. 항공, 여행 산업에서 일하는 많은 사람들이 직업을 잃게 되었다. 여행은 코로나가 잠잠해지면 다시 가게 되겠지만 미래에는 직접 여행을 가기보다 영상을 보여주거나 사람들의 뇌를 자극하여 여행을 간 것처럼 느끼게 만들어 주는 온라인 상품이 나올 수도 있다.

코로나가 이렇게 우리 생활을 많이 바꾸었지만 아직도 화상으로 사람을 만나는 것 보다 직접 만나는 게 훨씬 좋다. 과연 과학기술의 발달이 이런 차이를 얼마나 줄일 수 있을지 궁금하다.
