Not all parents, but some parents try to achieve their dreams through their children. So they force their children to do so in order to achieve their parents' ways or goals. For example, parents' dream is to become a doctor, and if they fail to achieve that dream, they try to achieve their dream of becoming a doctor through their children. So they force their child to become a doctor. But the problem may not be what their child really wants to be a doctor.

Of course, it is a good intention of parents to prevent their children from going the wrong way or going in the wrong direction. But forcing their child to live the life the parents want can be a violation of human rights. No matter how young a child is, he or she has rights to human rights, to plan his or her own life, to live.

Therefore, it is not only a violation of human rights but also a wrong idea to force a child to live the life they want just because they are parents. Children also have their own rights, so they should be allowed to live the life they want. Of course, it is only natural that children should be prevented from going the wrong way.

For example, if a child's dream is to become a singer, it is wrong to prevent him/her because he/she is different from his/her parents. In other words, it is important to respect a child's dream and to find a compromise through conversation. And in order for a child to achieve his or her desired dream, parents must provide sufficient help.

It is important to see children with personalities. They say that children should be treated as a noble person, not as a tool to achieve their parents' dreams. No matter how young a child is, he is a precious person, equal to his parents, and should be treated personally.

I think that frequent stories about child abuse in newspapers and the media are caused by the treatment of children as tools or means, not as personalities. To solve these problems, humans should have the idea that their children deserve to be loved, respected, and treated personally, and should not treat children like robots or tools. Therefore, the emotional paradigm must change in every part of society.

자녀들의 권리
자녀는 사랑을 받고, 존중을 받고, 인격적 대우를 받을 만한 존재

모든 부모가 다 그런 것은 아니지만, 어떤 부모들은 그들의 자녀들을 통해 자신의 꿈을 이루려고 한다. 그래서 부모들의 방식이나 목표를 이루기 위해 자녀들에게 그렇게 하기를 강요한다. 예를 들어, 부모의 꿈이 의사가 되는 것인데, 그 꿈을 이루지 못했을 경우, 자녀들을 통해 의사가 되는 꿈을 이루려고 한다. 그래서 자녀에게 의사가 되도록 강요한다. 그러나 문제는 자녀가 진짜로 원하는 것이 의사가 되는 것이 아닐 수도 있다.

물론 자녀가 나쁜 길로 가거나 잘못된 방향으로 가는 것을 막아준다는 것은 부모의 좋은 의도이다. 그러나 자기가 원하는 인생을 자기의 자녀가 살도록 강요하는 것은 자녀에 대한 인권침해의 소지가 있다. 아무리 어린아이라고 할지라도 아이에게는 인권이 있고, 자기 자신의 삶을 계획하고, 살 권리가 있다.

그렇기 때문에 부모라고 해서 자기가 원하는 삶을 자녀에게 강요하는 것은 인권침해인 것뿐만 아니라 잘못된 생각이다. 아이도 아이만의 권리가 있기 때문에 아이가 원하는 인생을 살게 끔 해 줘야 한다. 물론 자녀가 잘못된 길로 가는 것을 막아줘야 하는 것은 당연한 것이다.

예를 들어, 아이의 꿈이 가수가 되는 것이라면, 무조건 부모의 생각과 다르다는 이유로 막는 것은 잘못된 생각이다. 다시 말해, 아이의 꿈을 존중해 주고, 대화를 통해 절충점을 찾는 것이 중요하다. 그리고 아이가 원하는 꿈을 이루기 위해 부모는 충분한 도움을 주어야 한다.

자녀를 인격으로 보는 것이 중요하다. 자녀를 부모의 꿈을 이루기 위한 도구가 아니라 한 고귀한 인격체로 대해야 한다는 것이다. 자녀가 아무리 어릴지라도 부모와 동등한, 한 소중한 인격체이며, 인격적 대우를 받아야 하는 존재이다.

신문이나 언론에서 아동학대에 관한 이야기를 자주 본다는 것은, 아이를 인격으로 대하지 않고 도구나 수단으로 대했기 때문에 생겨난 문제라고 생각한다. 이러한 문제를 해결하기 위해서는 인간은 누구가 인격을 가진 존재이고, 사랑을 받고, 존중함을 받고, 인격적 대우를 받을 만한 존재라는 생각을 가져야 하며, 아이를 로봇이나 도구처럼 다루면 안되는 것이다. 그러므로 사회 전반에 걸친 정서적 패러다임이 바뀌어야 한다.
