According to “Florentino Pérez”, the CEO of one of the biggest football clubs, Real Madrid, young people around the age of 16 to 24 are stepping away from watching or playing football because of unnecessary games where there are too many differences in skills that they watch on tv. Pérez analyzed that each team from UEFA leagues has a huge gap in skills and performance difference among teams. This makes it less entertaining and unhelpful for other people to learn from watching the games. Pérez suggested that creating a new league called ESL (Europe Super League) may solve this problem of other people losing interest in soccer. ESL is a league that hosts the best teams all around Europe. Initially, 15 most talented clubs will participate in the league, and another 5 will join. J.P Morgan, the bank in the U.S, decided to sponsor the league by investing 6 billion dollars.

Pérez stated that UEFA is taking charge of all soccer teams from Europe, so they are responsible for people losing interest in soccer. So Pérez wants people’s support to take UEFA down with him. However, European governments, Soccer Players, Experts, and even fans criticized the creation of ESL because ESL excludes a lot of teams. Aleksander Čeferin, Ceo of UEFA said that UEFA will not let Perez take their teams. UEFA and FIFA came up with a shocking ultimatum stating that if any teams or players participate in ESL, those will not be allowed to join the World Cup and FIFA games. UEFA and Fifa leagues believed this strong policy would stop Perez But he did not step back and claimed that none of the players would have to agree to the policy.
