Sleep plays an important role in your well-being because sleep enables your body to repair and be ready for the next day. Sleep deprivation leads your body to have a weaker immune system and being exposed to more diseases and infections. It can bring multiple negative impacts on your health, and some of the most serious potential health problems are directly related to sleep deprivation.

The effects on your mental health can lead you to have anxiety, depression, or mood swings. Lack of sleep can also decrease your alertness and motivation level but instead increase your forgetfulness and stress level. As mentioned earlier, some of the most serious potential health problems are due to lack of sleep. These serious problems may include hypertension, coronary artery disease, heart attack, and strokes. Not having a good quality of sleep can also affect your appearance as it can lead to premature wrinkling, dark circles under your eyes, and fast aging in your skin. Not only this, but women may also experience irregular menstruation cycles. 

Light sleepers are less likely to get a good quality of sleep, and it is because they experience more distractions in their sleep. The smallest factors, like the room temperature, lights from the electronics, and outside noises can decide how much sleep a light sleeper can get in a night. It is because light sleepers are more sensitive to these factors than deep sleepers. Therefore, light sleepers often wake up multiple times in the middle of the night, getting a bad quality of sleep.

In some situations, light sleepers experience a lack of good quality of sleep due to their lifestyle and habits. Having sleep disorders or habits like teeth grinding or clenching while sleeping can impact how much sleep they can get. Drinking too much caffeine or alcohol can also be the reason why people become light sleepers.

To live a healthy life, you should make sure to get a good quality of sleep every day so your body can rest and prepare for the next day. As mentioned earlier, lack of sleep can bring many negative impacts to your body. Therefore, especially light sleepers with bad lifestyles or habits should try to change so that they can get the best quality of sleep they can.
