At the opening ceremony of the 2020 Tokyo Summer Olympics on the 23rd, the drone globe drew attention. At the end of the event at the Tokyo National Stadium, where the opening ceremony of the Olympics was held on the afternoon of the 23rd, 1,824 drones embodied the official emblem of the Tokyo Olympics above the stadium, followed by the 3D rendering of the Earth.

Drones were used in earnest at the 2014 Sochi Winter Olympics. Drones were used for security purposes at the Sochi Olympics. The Ministry of Internal Affairs (Russia) did its best to secure the Olympic Games by utilizing drones developed directly in Russia.

Since the Pyeongchang Winter Olympics, drones have been used not only for security purposes but for purposes of art. Intel, the world’s largest multinational semiconductor company, was responsible for the opening ceremony's drone show, successfully using 1,218 drones. However, the Tokyo Summer Olympics set a record, utilizing 1,824 drones, more than ever before.

Drones are attracting a lot of interest because they are being used in the Olympics, one of the most prestigious competitions on the planet. So, what precisely are drones, and why are they referred to as the fourth industrial revolution's heart?

A drone is an "unmanned flying device" that does not require a pilot to board and flies in an automated or semi-automatic mode using a remote controller or pre-programmed routes on the ground, or autonomously using artificial intelligence.

Drones, which may be used for aerial photography, military reasons, and transportation of goods are at the heart of the fourth industrial revolution. Drones have an almost limitless number of applications. From military weaponry to construction, energy, logistics, disaster relief, traffic monitoring, scientific research, agriculture, environmental pollution, cinematography, reporting, and hobbies, the drone's range of operation has almost grown indefinitely.

As drones are now being accessible to almost everyone, related leisure life is also drawing attention. People can enjoy drone racing, for example. Drone racing is a sport in which a camera is linked to drones and the player controls the drones in first person. Drones can be controlled at fast speeds because of this.
