2021 July, Hottest Month in 142 yearsGlobal warming, what should we do?

This July’s temperature was the most humid and dry in 142 years showing that Global warming is changing at a very high pace. This rare occurrence is different from other typical climate changes we have encountered so far. According to YTN news, Earth’s surface temperature has risen from 15.8 Celsius, the average temperature in the 20th century, to 16.73 Celsius, this July.

This occurrence has not only been seen last month; it was first shown in 2016 July where the temperature came up to 16.72 Celsius. The temperatures were all similar and had the same situation for last year and also for 2 years ago. According to NOAA (National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration), it is said that global warming is accelerating more than usual. For Asia, it was particularly hot, the earth’s surface temperature has increased by 1.61 Celsius. Not only Asia but also western countries’ such as America, Africa, Oceania temperature has increased making them go in the list of top 10 hottest and humid countries also related to UN.

In the 17 SDG (Sustainable Development Goals), the 13th goal is about preventing climate change. UN has come up with these 17 goals and is trying its best to accomplish all the goals by 2030, but recent reports have come up and said that with this pace, all these 17 sustainable goals would be achieved by 2082 and this also includes “climate change”. That means that there is a 52-year gap that we are unsure of what is going to happen. NOAA spokesman Rick Spinrad stated, “The earth’s surface temperature in this month, August, is also rapidly increasing” and said that “we need to find a solution to prevent from this current climate change occurs that is currently impacting the world.” People need to work together and take action to slow down the pace of global warming and make the world a more harmless place than today.
