Tetris is a classic game released in June of 1984 and goes down in the hall of fame of video games as it is a quintessential retro game that was played all over the world.

The game basics are straightforward: there are seven different pieces, which you stack on top of one another to form lines. A Tetris can be cleared by clearing four lines at once with an "I" piece, resulting in a Tetris - hence the name Tetris. When the NES versions were published, this simple game caught the world by storm, selling millions of copies. Throughout the world, world championships were held. The Nintendo world championships were held in the 1990s to commemorate their 100th anniversary, and it was one of Tetris' golden eras.

Although Tetris was quite popular, there appeared to be a point in time in the early 2000s when it began to fade away. This is most likely because the older generation grew up with less time spent playing video games. In addition, more contemporary games were introduced. Even though mobile Tetris was released and appeared to be incredibly popular, the old-school NES Tetris was not as popular. When the inaugural world Tetris championships were held in Los Angeles in 2010, everything changed. The tournament drew a lot of attention on social media and repolarized NES Tetris by pitting competitors from all over the world against one another. This episode recurred in subsequent years, attracting a lot of attention, particularly on YouTube, where multiple recordings became viral.

Modern versions of Tetris grew in popularity as a result of these occurrences. The core physics of modern Tetris are the same as those of original Tetris. Modern Tetris, on the other hand, contains many more intricate features and mechanisms, as well as a vs mode in which players can compete against one another by sending lines to other opponents in an attempt to topple them. As a result, T-Spins are largely used to send lines, as it is far more efficient than Tetris in terms of sending large numbers of lines with fewer lines. There are several more elements of the game, such as 7-bag, which means that at least one of each piece is utilized every seven, resulting in piece drops that are not fully random. Another difference from NES Tetris is that the latency between piece drops is frequently reduced or eliminated in current Tetris, resulting in considerably faster gaming and more intense conflicts, perhaps appealing to younger generations.

There were numerous advances in modern Tetris, as well as numerous developments in NES Tetris. The Tetris world championships were contested online in 2020 due to the Covid epidemic. As a result, the game was introduced to a whole new group of people. As a result, a variety of persons previously unknown to the Tetris community emerged, resulting in a wide spectrum of talents being displayed. This tournament brought people from all around the world together as younger and older generations mingled. Techniques like hyper-tapping and using the right well were shared with those who may not have been aware of them previously. The game is explained to you.
