Putin, the Poor President
김승재 강남포스트 학생기자 | 승인 2022.03.25 16:51

Putin, the president of Russia and the man responsible for starting the Ukrainian war, is not as mighty of a ruler as people anticipate him to be.

Putin began to invade Ukraine for an extremely sentimental reason. Being sentimental as a president is extremely bad for one's career, and the reason why Putin attacked Ukraine was so that he could remain in control of Ukraine and keep its pro-Russian side.

In 2014 February, Ukraine began a revolution to become independent. However, Russia did not like the idea of Ukraine becoming independent, which caused them to fight back to maintain control. During the aftermath of Ukraine's revolution, Russia frequently invaded and took over the Crimean Peninsula from Ukraine. Putin is afraid that if he loses control of Ukraine, it will ruin Russia's reputation and make him look less powerful for letting a country slip out of his hands.

Putin is so obsessed with showing off his power that he created a large mansion called Putin's Palace. It is 39 times the size of Monaco and costs over 1.35 billion dollars to build. Although Putin's original plan for starting the war was to win Ukraine back, his greed for power has become more of a disastrous situation than he anticipated. The Chinese government is now considering helping Russia with the Ukrainian war. However, the American government strongly advises China not to interfere with the Ukrainian conflict. Putin's cupidity has now stirred an argument for the Chinese, Ukrainian, and American governments. If the situation with these governments gets worse, it will become World War 3. Although Putin is a leader of a powerful country and has a solid career, his judgment and avarice make him a malevolent influence on his reputation as president and governments worldwide.
