The way we enjoy and access types of entertainment have changed dramatically in response to changes in time. For millennia, humanity has been looking for a method to enjoy itself.
Storytelling was one of the first kinds of amusement in the long history of Homo sapiens. During the stone age period, tribal members of a clan would congregate around a fire to listen to ancient legends of the elderly; these stories frequently were tales of great warriors and mythological animals that piqued people's attention at the time. Hunting celebrations were especially important since the butchering of animals was an important part of people's life at the time, which effectively piqued their attention. This was the end. Anything could be used as entertainment as long as it was something that the culture at the time could connect to. Since then, human civilization has evolved over hundreds of thousands of years, and our interests and needs have changed at the same time. Many things have changed since the invention of the first black and white television, even as technology has advanced.

Among the earliest successful YouTubers were KevJumba, Dave Days, NigaHiga, Smosh, and many more. This new kind of entertainment, which lets anybody create and consume a limitless amount of information, has heralded a new era for content producers and consumers worldwide. Nowadays, digital media has eclipsed traditional forms of media, including not just YouTube but also other content platforms such as TikTok and Netflix.
