On 15 August 2021, the Taliban entered Afghanistan's capital city of Kabul, and took control of the country. Since then, Afghanistan has been struggling economically, and this action has affected the citizens' quality of life regarding human rights. The Taliban’s impact has affected the entire nation, and women have lost numerous privileges due to this sudden change. The Taliban perpetrated inhumane acts against women such as rape, and forced marriage, and refused to allow women to attend secondary schools. Here we have a story of a student who is devastated due to the Taliban's decision on women's education. 

"I went to the entrance exam with lots of hope. But when I saw the selection paper, I couldn't find my favorite subject," says a tearful student in Afghanistan. This student is a 19-year-old school student who has been attending an Afghanistan public university, and she has been striving to pursue her dream of becoming a journalist to advocate for women's rights. However, this student’s dream of becoming a journalist has been threatened due to the sudden change in the law. 

Gender disparity has been a problem for decades, with no apparent remedy in sight. Women have been overlooked and denied the same chances as males just because they are different. Modern women's equality is often represented in the division of labor since some people still have stereotypes about males just being better prepared to perform better tasks. Although there are certain vocations where men or women may have an edge, there is no apparent benefit for men or women in journalism, and it is just illogical to limit journalism to only one gender.
