In April, Youth Impact founded Re: Feace to provide refugees in a legal blind spot with opportunities to build employment skills. Re: Feace refers to Korea's disastrous reality, saying that refugees cannot receive financial support from the government, have a proper job, and most should live on a part-time salary of less than 1 million won.

Re: Feace sells eco-bags designed by refugee artists in the hope that refugees can get away from negative prejudices and recognize and reconcile with each other. The first eco bag design was by a designer from Congo, which portrays the Haegeum, a traditional instrument of Korea, and Urgan, a traditional instrument of Afghanistan.
Refugee designers' traditional yet sophisticated design, which means harmony between each other by crossing each other, makes us put down the arrogance and prejudice that refugee-related products are unfashionable.

Rather than simply distributing the proceeds from the sales of eco bags to refugee artists, Re: Feace trains refugees as baristas in cooperation with a social enterprise called Tomorrow's Coffee, a social enterprise that nurtures African refugees as baristas and helps them achieve economic independence. Being interested in Re: Feace 's eco bag will be a valuable opportunity to directly help refugees, especially for those who have always wanted to help refugees but did not know how to help them specifically.

As the founder of Re: Feace, I urge people to join the campaign to give refugees a second life and a chance.

유스임팩트, 첫 번째 난민 크라우드 펀딩 캠페인을 시작하다.
리피스, 난민들에게 취업 기회를 제공하다

지난 4월, 유스임팩트는 법적 사각지대에 있는 난민들에게 취업 역량을 쌓을 수 있는 기회를 제공하기 위해 리피스를 설립했다. 리피스는 난민이 국민이 아니라는 이유만으로 정부에게서 경제적 지원을 받을 수도, 제대로 된 직업을 가질 수도 없고, 대부분이 100만원이 채 되지 않는 파트타임 월급으로 생활해야 한다며 한국의 처참한 현실을 전하고 있다.

리피스는 난민들을 향한 부정적인 편견들에서 벗어나 서로를 인정하고 화합할 수 있기를 바라는 마음에서 난민 아티스트가 디자인한 에코백들을 판매한다. 첫번째 에코백 디자인은 콩고에서 온 디자이너의 것으로, 대한민국의 전통 악기인 해금과 아프가니스탄 전통 악기인 우르간을 교차해 놓음으로써 서로 간의 화합을 의미하는 난민 디자이너의 전통적이면서도 세련된 디자인은 난민 관련 제품이 촌스러울 것이라는 오만과 편견을 내려놓게 만든다. 

리피스는 단순히 에코백의 판매 수익금을 난민 아티스트에게 배분하는 것이 아닌, 내일의 커피라는 아프리카 난민들을 바리스타로 육성하여 경제적 자립을 돕는 사회적 기업과 협력하여 난민들을 바리스타로 훈련시켜 한국 사회에 더 잘 적응하도록 교육하는 데에 사용한다. 리피스의 에코백에 관심을 가지는 것은 평소에 난민들을 돕고 싶었지만 구체적으로 어떻게 도울지 모르는 이들에게 난민들을 직접 도울 수 있는 소중한 기회가 될 것이다.

리피스의 설립자인 필자는 많은 사람들이 난민들에게 제2의 삶과 기회를 제공하기 위한 캠페인에 참여할 것을 촉구한다.
