Getting into NCAA Division 1 basketball can be difficult, as the competition is fierce and the standards for recruitment are high. Many Division 1 basketball programs only accept players who have excelled at the high school or junior college level and have the potential to continue to develop and perform at a high level in college. Additionally, coaches and recruiters at Division 1 programs are looking for players who have a combination of skill, athleticism, size, and intangibles such as work ethic, coachability, and mental toughness.

On January 17th, Gonzaga basketball announced their recruitment of potential NBA prospect Yeo Jun Seok. Gonzaga basketball is well-known in the United States and has a strong reputation as one of the top mid-major programs in college basketball. They have consistently been a top team in the West Coast Conference and have made the NCAA tournament nearly every year since 1999, including reaching the Final Four in 2021 and playing in the National Championship game in 2021. The renowned basketball organization has recruited Yeo for his unique and outstanding abilities on and off the court. He had already participated in multiple NBA invitational camps and displayed his dexterity on the global stage. 

One Step Closer to the “Dream League”

His official NCAA game will begin in August as the season starts. NCAA Division 1 basketball is considered very competitive and challenging, as it features some of the country's best college basketball teams and players. The level of play is high, with solid athleticism, skill, and strategy on display from both teams. Nevertheless, Yeo's acceptance can be considered approval for the most elevated competition. However, Yeo's every move during his games will be evaluated, determining whether he would be eligible to play in the 'Dream League' of all hoopers. Despite his number one title in Korean basketball, Yeo would inevitably face obstacles as he strives to pursue what he has forever dreamed of. It is his confidence and firmness that will establish success and failures.
