Why is Sleep Important?

Young and healthy men were employed in sleep studies to analyze testosterone production. The subjects slept at home for eight hours a week, entered the laboratory, slept for 10 hours for three days, and slept for five hours for eight days. Sleep was recorded and scored every night, and blood samples were taken every 15 to 30 minutes for 24 hours after the second 10-hour sleep and the seventh 5-hour sleep. The results showed that "testosterone levels were lower during sleep time limits."
