How are Medicines Made? The Process of Making Medicines
김유민 강남포스트 학생기자 | 승인 2023.03.16 21:49

Researchers and scientists are constantly working to create new and better medications to treat a wide range of illnesses and diseases. A new pharmaceutical must first go through a protracted and complicated development procedure that includes numerous research and testing phases.

Finding a specific ailment or condition that needs to be treated is the first stage in developing a new drug. The biology and physiology of the illness, as well as the possible drug targets, are then well understood.

After a target has been found, researchers start developing a pharmacological candidate. This entails creating and testing a variety of chemical compounds to find those with the potential to interact favorably with the target.

A prospective medication candidate must go through numerous stages of testing to establish its safety and efficacy. This comprises thorough human clinical trials as well as animal preclinical testing.

The drug can then be approved by regulatory authorities and made available to patients if it turns out to be both safe and effective.

The lengthy and arduous process of creating a pharmaceutical makes it an essential component of medical research and development despite the potential advantages for patients.
