The Only Way for Korean Baseball - IPitch Clock, Larger Bases, No Shifts

After the Korean national baseball team's unanticipated early exit, it has been a hot topic in every baseball fan's eyes whether the Korean Baseball Organization will take action to regain its former glory. It turns out, this is not a problem only for Korean baseball's future.

A generous amount of people have stated several problems that disrupted American baseball's popularity at the start of the new year. The anticipation brought into American baseball has shown "a steady decline in the number of viewers, or stadium attendance, starting from 21.98 million in 1992 down to 7.51 million in 2022" (Gough, 2022), and there is no question or hesitation about defining baseball's current looks as dim and unpromising.

As a result, before this season's start, MLB Commissioner Rob Manfred came up with an important rule change to American Baseball. Rob Manfred and the Joint Competition Committee have agreed to adopt several groundbreaking changes to the game of baseball. First, the "Pitch Timer" introduces a 30-second gap between batters stepping up to the batting plate. If the batter or the pitcher fails to throw their first pitch to the batter in less than 30 seconds, a ball is rewarded to the batter. A 15-second timer is also introduced, where the pitcher needs to throw the ball in less than 15 seconds. The limit is extended to 20 seconds with runners on base.
